The Long Haul
by GC SMITH
I figured I could perhaps do
twenty-five
and now I'm pushing
seventy two
it's been a
long and winding
path I've run
I look back with
no regret, 'cause
I've learned some things
along the way
and, that, my freinds
is just how
life's race should be
Now when the run
still aint quite done
my breathing comes with
shorter gasps
and stride
shortens
just a bit
But I do not falter,
because I'm sure that
it's not yet over,
no, I'll continue
on the run
until I get to
where I'm going
