New Politics

A New Crystalnacht Looms

It's time to teach again the young folk
of days of yore, of history’s horror politics

It's time to teach again the young folk
of intolerance, fear, hate, destruction, death

It's time to teach again the young folk
of pistols, truncheons, sabers as political tools

It's time to teach again the young folk
of blitzkriegs, and panzers rolling through Europe

It's time to teach again the young folk
of national socialist rallies, of virulence, of blood lust

It's time to teach again the young folk
of camps, of Auschwitz, Bergen-Belsen, of slavery, of mass murder

It's time to teach again the young folk
of Jews, Gypsies, Homos, the halt and lame, dissenters tumbled to mass graves

It's time to teach again the young folk
that whispers of nigger, jew, homo, terrorist are virulent

It's time to teach again the young folk
that it can't happen in America just might be empty cant

It's time to teach again the young folk
the world's economic stage may be set for violent scapegoating

It's time to teach again the young folk
the price of truth and freedom is eternal vigilance

Thanks Nonnie, unfortunately this IMO is not something likeable.

In Germany somebody was charged recently with setting up "Hitler Youth" summer camps--Swastika banners, Horst Wessel song, the whole nine yards.

Hell, it's 'merca I worry about. I haven't trusted the Krauts since Hitler. But, I did have (and would like to still have) some little faith in my fellow citizens. The crys of terrorist, traitor, kill him coming from McCain/Palin crowds are frightening in their potential. Neither McCain nor Palin will stop to chastise these viscious bastards. In my book that makes McCain/Palin the same.

McCain was an honerable man but he's sold his soul (if such exists) for the possibility of the Presidency. I'm no Obama fan but McCain with his doddering senility could bring down the republic.

Yeah, if I lived in the States I'd be voting for Obama, with about as much enthusiasm as I detect in you. We have an election coming up here, and since my only choice is who to support in my riding it's fairly easy. Very likely our next PM will be our current one, with another minority government, though there's a chance of a Liberal/NDP coalition. Which I'd greet with enthusiasm insofar as it prevented any more of Harper's nonsense.

You're right about my enthusiasm.
